Welcome to Heath & Hounds
With a background in the military, including service overseas, care, routine, responsibility and attention to detail are values that naturally shape how Heath & Hounds is run. After leaving the forces, my career moved into the financial sector, but home, family and animals have always remained at the centre of life.
Kali has also grown up with dogs and has always had a caring nature, both at home and through her work as a part-time primary school teacher. She also enjoys photography, which fits perfectly with our plans to share lovely updates and moments with owners as Heath & Hounds grows.
As a family, we are very home-focused and animal-loving. You’ll often find us enjoying days out, visiting Chester Zoo, heading to the gym, or spending time on the beach and forest walks. Moving close to Chester Zoo was no accident — animals are a huge part of what we love.
Heath & Hounds has been created because we know how important it is to feel confident about who is caring for your dog. We want owners to feel reassured that their dog is being welcomed into a real family home, with comfort, safety, routine and plenty of attention.
Heath & Hounds is a family-run dog daycare and home boarding service based in Ellesmere Port. Our aim is simple: to offer dogs a calm, caring and trusted home-from-home where they can feel safe, settled and genuinely looked after.
Dogs have always been a big part of our lives. From growing up around Staffies, Akitas, French Bulldogs and Yorkies, to spending time around working dogs during military life, animals have always played an important role in our story. That lifelong love of dogs is what inspired us to open our home to other owners who want a more personal alternative to larger commercial settings.
Why We Started Heath & Hounds
We wanted to create the kind of dog care we would want for our own pets — personal, calm, secure and genuinely caring. Our home offers a more familiar environment for small to medium-sized dogs, with a secure garden, daily walks, routine, rest and plenty of companionship.
Every dog is treated as an individual, and our onboarding process helps us understand their personality, health, behaviour, diet and home routine before they join us.
